COMMISSIONER FOR OATHS IN JOHOR BAHRU COURT
The Johor Bahru Court provides the services of a Commissioner for Oaths to swear documents that require verification under oath. The swearing of this documentation is based on the Statutory Affidavits Act 1960 (Revised 2016), the Rules of the Commissioner for Oaths 1993 and any written law that requires a sworn statement.

WHAT IS A COMMISSIONER FOR OATHS?
The Commissioner of Oaths is a person appointed by the Chief Justice under Section 11 of the Court of Justice Act 1964 and the Commissioner of Oaths Rules 1993.


WHAT UNIT MANAGES COMMISSIONERS FOR OATHS ALL OVER MALAYSIA?

The unit that manages the Commissioner for Oaths throughout Malaysia is the Commissioner for Oaths Unit, Office of the Chief Justice and Research Division of the Federal Court of Malaysia, Office of the Registrar General of the Federal Court of Malaysia.


WHAT IS THE OBJECTIVE OF THE COMMISSIONER FOR OATHS UNIT?
The objective of the Commissioner for Oaths Unit is to manage the affairs of Commissioners of Oaths throughout Malaysia in an efficient, efficient and orderly manner to ensure the effectiveness of the duties undertaken by Commissioners for Oaths who are indirectly involved in supporting the judicial system in Malaysia.

Provide services based on the provisions of the Rules of the Commissioner for Oaths 1993 and related instructions;
Ensuring all customers are served at a prompt, reasonable, efficient and systematic rate;
Ensuring that the services offered by the Commissioner for Oaths are carried out with full integrity.


WHAT IS THE LAW OR REFERENCE DOCUMENT THAT GOVERNS AND CONTROLS CONDUCT. DUTIES AND ETHICS OF A COMMISSIONER FOR OATH IN MALAYSIA?
The law that governs and controls the conduct and duties of the Commissioner for Oaths is the Rules of the Commissioner for Oaths 1993 while the Malaysian Code of Ethics for the Commissioner for Oaths describes the ethics and code of conduct that should be practiced by a Commissioner for Oaths approved by the Chief Justice.
